03.1- Fase di Tessitura e controllo Greggio

The weaving tests related to the various series of the project FOR-EVER represented a crucial phase in validating the prototypes developed through textile CAD.
For each fabric, several combinations of weave structure, density, and mechanical settingswere tested, in order to identify the best balance between structural stability, handfeel, and visual appearance of the fabric.

All tests, trials, and production of the validated prototypes were carried out at the company’s internal sample weaving department MICROFIL Srl, which also handled the subsequent stages of inspection and mending of the greige fabricensuring full traceability and the quality of the experimental results.

The weaving operations required numerous adjustments to the looms, due to the variability of regenerated yarns and the complexity of the relationships between wefts and warps of different finenesses.
Particular attention was dedicated to controlling warp tensions and the regularity of the weft beatwhich are fundamental parameters for avoiding slippage, waviness, and flatness defects.

Each series presented its own specific criticalities: the EVER 7000 e 8000 for the heaviness of the wefts; the 10500 for its fineness and lightness; the experimental nylon series for the difficulty of interlacing yarns of very different counts; the EVER-SILK for the delicacy of GOTS-certified silk.
The overall set of tests made it possible to validate the production settings and confirm the industrial reproducibility of the prototypes, paving the way for the subsequent phases of finishing and eco-compatible ennobling..

03.2 – Finishing and Ennobling Phase

The finishing and ennobling phase, entirely carried out by TEXMODA TESSUTI SRL , represented the completion of the research and experimental process initiated with the design and weaving of the series FOR-EVERallowing the full enhancement of the technical, tactile, and aesthetic characteristics of the developed prototypes.
For each fabric, specific targeted processing pathscalibrated according to fiber composition, structure, and intended use, with the aim of optimizing handfeel, appearance, and dimensional stability while fully respecting the sustainability principles of the project FOR-EVER.

The fabrics EVER_7000, EVER_8000 and EVER_10500 underwent a cycle of fulling, stenter drying, dry raising, shearing, DecoFast treatment, and final rolling.
This more traditional process made it possible to obtain fabrics that are compact, uniform, and pleasant to the touch, in which the regenerated wool component was enhanced by raising and shearing, giving body, softness, and surface regularity.

The fabrics EVER_NYLON and EVER_SILK_GOTS (variants 1 and 2), characterized by more complex structures and greater yarn heterogeneity, instead required a dedicated cycle: basket washing, Airo drying, shearing, steaming, and rolling..
This gentler treatment made it possible to preserve the integrity of the fine GRS nylon warps and GOTS silk warps, while at the same time improving handfeel, softness, and dimensional stability of the fabric, without altering its visual and tactile characteristics.

All finishing operations confirmed the full compatibility between traditional finishing processes and next-generation regenerated materials, demonstrating the possibility of combining textile quality, technological innovation, and environmental sustainability within a single circular production chain.
