FOR-EVER
FOR TEXTILE AND FASHION
SUSTAINABILITY

The challenge of our project is to create a true
Circular Economy in the Textile–Fashion sector,
capable of transforming textile waste into a Resource,
With the aim of drastically reducing
the environmental impact of one of the sectors
most polluting on the planet.

FOR-EVER
where every fabric can be reborn…
Forever!

Every year, the world produces enormous quantities of textile waste — an environmental issue of increasingly alarming proportions. It is estimated that over 100 billion garments are manufactured annually, and more than half of them end up in landfills or incinerators within twelve months of purchase, releasing toxic substances and greenhouse gases into the environment

Pre-consumer waste, meaning the scraps generated during the production process, also represents a significant share: millions of tons of new textiles are discarded every year without ever being used. Overall, the textile sector is estimated to be responsible for more than 10% of global CO₂ emissions — more than the combined impact of air and maritime transport.

Only a small portion of this waste is actually recycled or regenerated, since mixed fiber compositions, dyes, and finishing treatments significantly complicate recovery processes.

* FOR-EVER THE FOR-EVER PROJECT aims to address these complexities by using innovative machinery designed and patented by one of the textile companies involved in the project

MISSION

Transforming the traditional textile supply chain into an efficient,
regenerative, and competitive model for Made in Italy.

The project aims to develop an integrated system of processes, technologies, and control procedures for the production of high-quality apparel fabrics, through a circular production model that includes all phases of the product lifecycle: manufacturing, use, reuse, and material recovery.

In parallel, as planned, we have created an identifying trademark equipped with traceability techniques, designed to support garment recovery through incentive-based systems for end users.

The initiative promotes the transition from linear production models to circular ones, based on resource efficiency, the use of renewable energy, and the reduction of waste, fostering a sustainable and competitive evolution of the Italian textile supply chain.

In summary, the project seeks to revolutionize the textile and apparel sector through the implementation of sustainable practices and the adoption of innovative technologies, aiming to create a fully circular system that reduces environmental impact, promotes resource-use efficiency, and offers high-quality, value-added products to conscious consumers.

* FOR-EVER is the result of a collaboration between four leading companies of the Prato textile district, brought together in a temporary partnership aimed at enhancing their respective areas of specialized expertise. The initiative integrates industrial experience, research, and technological innovation to promote a sustainable and internationally competitive production model.
